Ordering and accounts
Can I pick up my order in person?
As we are an online pharmacy only, you cannot pick up orders but we're pretty quick with our order processing so you'll have your products relatively quickly (depending on where you live - see Shipping page for more information).
How do I order?
You'll need to register an account before you can order off our site. See our homepage for more information on how to register.
If you've already registered and activated your account, simply log in, scroll through our products and add to cart, noting that some products, like nicotine e-liquid, will require a consultation (phone) with our pharmacist before dispensing.
How do I register an account?
Our homepage has a quick run-down on how to register an account.
How do I log in?
If you have already registered an account, received an account activation email and activated your account, click on the little person icon in the top right of our website. That links to the login page or your profile if you're already logged in.
How do I pay for an order?
You will have multiple payment options upon checking out, including credit card.
How do I make changes to an order?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you would like to change the products in your order, as we process orders quite quickly during weekdays. We pack and ship every weekday, with same-day dispatch if your order is placed and approved before midday (AEST).
How many vape products can I order?
Why can't I order vape products for family/friends?
We can only dispense products for the person whose name is on the account registered with our website. We cannot dispense products to you if you place an order with delivery details that include a different person's name and address.
Although you can purchase most vaping goods without a prescription, they are still pharmacy-dispensed, medicinal products and vaping substances are scheduled medicine so they must be dispensed to the patient themselves; that is, the person whose ID is verified and matches the details of the registered account.
Any orders with delivery details (name/address) different to those of the account holder, will be cancelled.
Why can't I submit my order?
If you can't submit an order and/or are getting an error message that there is something wrong with your order details, try the following and see if one rectifies the issue:
- Try a different internet browser: while we endeavour to ensure our site is operational across all popular browsers, there are some aspects that are out of our control. Some customer feedback indicated the Chrome browser might cause some issues in checkout.
- Check credit card information is correct.
- Check that you completed the online consultation form; ensuring you answered every question and ticked all relevant boxes.
- Refresh the page and try again.
- Contact us if the problem persists.
Shipping and returns
Do you ship overseas?
Many of our products, such as therapeutic vaping substances (e-liquid), require a pharmacist consult in adherence to relevant Australian laws. Since laws are different for pharmacy-only products internationally, we only sell and ship to residents of Australia.
Can I return pharmacy products?
It is possible to return a pharmacy product but it will depend on the product and the reason for the return. Please see our Warranty Page for more information on our warranty and refund policy.
What if a product arrives damaged?
Take a photo or video of the damage to the product immediately and do not open the damaged product. Email your photo/video to info@pharmacyworldaustralia.com.au and we will get back to you as quickly as possible. It is very likely we will replace the product if damage in transit is evident.
Products
Do I need a prescription to purchase vapes?
Yes and no, depending on what you mean by 'vapes'.
From 1 October 2024:
- No prescription required to purchase vaping devices, nicotine-free vaping substances or substances containing up to 20mg/mL nicotine concentration. You will need to prove you are at least 18 years old, talk to our pharmacist and only use vaping products for smoking cessation or management of nicotine dependence.
- Prescription required for e-liquid with 21mg/mL or more nicotine concentration.
Do you sell nicotine substances?
Yes, we sell a variety of e-liquid (vaping substances) with mint, menthol and tobacco flavours, or unflavoured, in a range of nicotine concentrations, including nicotine-free.
Do you sell therapeutic vaping goods?
Yes, we sell therapeutic vaping goods for smoking cessation or the management of nicotine dependence. You can only view and purchase e-cigarettes or vaping substances after you register and log in to your account.
Purchasing vape goods requires you to provide us with identification, chat with our pharmacist and agree to the terms and conditions of purchase.
Does my product have warranty?
Yes, there is limited and different warranty on most of our pharmacy products. Please see our Warranty page for more information on our warranty and refund policy.
Why can't I see all the products?
Some products, such as therapeutic vaping goods (e-cigarettes and e-liquid), can only be seen if you register an account. These are pharmacy-only, scheduled medication that are usually sold from behind the counter, by a pharmacist only, in a brick and mortar chemist.
Many of these products can only be sold to adults (18+), so we will also request an ID check upon registering.
Why don't you stock all products on list of notified vapes?
We source our products from Australian sponsors which must notify the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of each product's compliance and appear on TGA's List of notified vapes, before we can legally stock them. Sponsors must also acquire a permit for each notified product from the Office of Drug Control (ODC), then place orders with manufacturers (which are usually overseas) and wait for those products to be cleared through Australian customs (at least one month).
Each step of this process takes time so it can take months to get notified products into Australia.
Our product range will steadily increase as Australian sponsors (our suppliers) acquire stock, since we do not order directly from manufacturers.
Health and safety
What if I have a reaction to vaping?
If you suspect nicotine poisoning, contact the Poisons Information Centre (13 11 26) immediately, or 000 if it's for a child and/or a life-threatening emergency.
Symptoms of nicotine poisoning include nausea, vomiting, brachycardia and convulsions.
If you've only just switched to vaping from cigarettes, you may experience a cough and if it doesn't go away in a few days, seek medical attention.
Please let us know about any adverse reactions to vaping substances/devices or issues with devices as we must report these to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
How do I dispose of vape products?
Nicotine
Any e-liquid bottle, pod or tank that once contained nicotine (a medicine) must be returned to a pharmacy for proper disposal through the return of unwanted medicines (RUM) program.
Devices
- Removable battery devices: turn off, remove battery and dispose of device only in household waste. Contact local council for advice on disposal of batteries.
- Built-in battery devices: contact local council for advice on disposal of batteries.
General information
Do all states dispense vapes the same way?
No. While all states have similar regulations, each Australian state may differ in the way they regulate how pharmacists dispense scheduled medication, such as schedule 3 or 4 vaping substances.
The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia has a break-down of each state's dispensing regulations.
