The easiest vaping devices to use

Easy Street - The easiest vaping devices | Pharmarcy World Australia | Blog posts

Vaping devices come in a big range of shapes, sizes, battery types, activation types and more. However, one of the key differentiating factors of e-cigarettes, used for smoking cessation or nicotine dependence management in Australia, is their ease of use. This article focuses on those who have a therapeutic need for a simple vaping device.

Why is ease of use important?

A vaping device's ease of use, or lack there of, can either help or hinder your smoking cessation or nicotine dependence management plan.

If an e-cigarette is too hard to use for someone who would rather vape simply, they could give up and go back to smoking. If an e-cigarette is easy to use but doesn't provide the power required for the throat hit you're used to while smoking, it may also cause you to go back to cigarettes.

What are the simplest vaping devices?

The easiest vaping devices to use are pod kits with pre-filled, disposable pods, for example, the Lula vaping devices we stock. These devices only require recharging and replacing pods that you purchase already pre-filled with vaping substance. Once the vaping substance inside the pod is used up, you dispose of the pod and replace it with another pre-filled pod.

Pros of pre-filled pod kits:

  • very easy to use - install pod and draw
  • less leakage - sealed, pre-filled pods
  • low maintenance - no refilling pods or changing coils
  • low vapour production
  • portable and discreet
  • rechargeable device/battery, reducing waste
  • set choice of flavours and nicotine strengths.

Cons of pre-filled pod kits:

  • costs more to purchase pre-filled pods (Note: some brands do not offer a refillable option, but LULA does)
  • dependent on one brand
  • limited nicotine strength options
  • no choice of nicotine type
  • no control over e-liquid quality
  • no customisation on vapour production/draw strength
  • pod liquid may be used up quickly, if you were a heavy smoker
  • smaller battery that won't last all day (depending on how often it is used)
  • waste from disposable pods.

Are there other easy vaping devices?

Pod kits with rechargeable batteries and refillable pods provide a little more customisation but are still relatively easy to use. Although the simpler pod kit devices still technically have 'disposable' pods, they are refillable until the built-in coil no longer vapes well. So you get more than a single use.

Pros of pod kits:

  • choice vaping substance
  • cost saving - choose own liquid, keep pods for longer
  • customisable draw - selection of pod types, airflow control on some kits
  • larger choice of liquid brands for flavour, nicotine strength and nicotine type
  • larger, more customisable kit options
  • low to high vapour production options
  • portable and discreet options
  • replaceable coil pod options - more draw control, keep pod even longer
  • reusable pods, less waste.

Cons of pod kits:

  • choice of kit with larger battery capacity for longer usage time before recharging
  • more maintenance required:
    • keep an eye on e-liquid to know when to refill
    • monitor vapour and taste to know when to replace entire pod
  • possibility of leakage (especially if using when pod needs replacing)
  • some more complicated to use - large variety of pod kits, must choose the simple pod kit versions as some are harder to use.

What about large vapes with tanks?

All large devices with glass tanks are for people who either have experience with these types of e-cigarettes or require very powerful vaping to fulfil their therapeutic need; the subject of another blog post. If you require simple vaping, still the devices mentioned above.
